Seocho-gu Doubles Operation of 'Home Delivery Cool Class'
Applications open from the 18th until an additional 500 spots are filled... Total 1,000 participants will receive 5 types of kits delivered to their homes, including portable fans and LED mood lights making kits
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) is recruiting an additional 500 participants for the representative program of the ‘2020 Seocho Homecance Summer School,’ the 'Home Delivery Cool Class.'
Targeting elementary school students in the area, the ‘Home Delivery Cool Class’ is an online-offline linked program where participants create projects such as portable fans and LED mood lights delivered to their homes by watching online content uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘Seocho Innovation Education District.’
The initial 500 spots were filled quickly on the first day of recruitment, showing high popularity among Seocho students and parents.
Accordingly, Seocho-gu decided to significantly expand recruitment by an additional 500 participants to allow more students to join the program.
After the first class, ‘Growing Companion Plants,’ was released on the 10th, highly positive feedback from parents heated up the YouTube comment section.
Parents participating in the program responded positively, saying, “My son, who has been bored staying at home lately, is excited and fully immersed in the fun of making things,” and “Even our children who have difficulty concentrating are enjoying participating very much.”
Applications can be made from the 18th through the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website. Additional applicants can participate in the program without restrictions on time or space by using the five kits delivered to their homes and the uploaded online content.
The Seocho Homecance Summer School operates throughout August with four specialized programs in addition to the ‘Home Delivery Cool Class.’
These include ‘My Own Video Challenge,’ ‘Youth Career and College Consulting,’ and ‘Online Summer Camp with AI Coding.’
In particular, the ‘Online Summer Camp with AI Coding’ completed its basic course (Python and Deep Learning) from the 10th to the 14th, and a follow-up program, the ‘Project Course,’ will be newly opened for three days starting on the 19th to continuously provide high-quality educational services.
