Gochang-gun Installs and Operates 'Automated Recycling Sorting and Collection Device'... First in Jeonbuk
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 18th that it has installed and begun pilot operation of the 'AI Can and PET Bottle Automatic Sorting and Collection Machine,' the first of its kind in the Jeonbuk region.
The county installed and started operating the machines at two locations: Gochang-gun Indoor Gymnasium and Wolgok Neighborhood Park, aiming to increase the separation and collection rates of recyclables and improve residents' awareness of resource circulation.
The 'Automatic Recycling Sorting and Collection Machine' is a recycling collection device developed by integrating artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technology. When cans or PET bottles are inserted into the vending machine and a mobile phone number is entered, the items are automatically sorted and stored.
At this time, points are accumulated as a reward, with 1 point equivalent to 1 Korean won.
Cans earn 7 points, and PET bottles earn 5 points. When more than 2,000 points are accumulated, users can apply for a refund, which is transferred to their personal account and can be used like cash.
Point checking and refund applications can be made through the Superbin website.
