Concertante is a concert-style opera performance that reduces the theatrical elements of opera and focuses on orchestral playing and vocal singing.
The opera The Magic Flute is Mozart's final work, depicting a fairy-tale-like story of the protagonists Tamino and Pamina, who overcome numerous hardships and achieve love amidst the conflict between the Queen of the Night, symbolizing darkness, and Sarastro, symbolizing light. The aria "Hell's vengeance boils in my heart," sung by the soprano role of the Queen of the Night, is especially famous.
Soprano Jung Sungmi as Pamina, tenor Kim Sungjin as Tamino, baritone Choi Eunseok as Papageno, soprano Lee Juyeon as the Queen of the Night, and bass Shin Myungjun as Sarastro, among other top-class vocalists, will appear, with direction by Hong Jiwon and conducting by Park Jiwoon.
