Gyeongnam Province Tests 48 Residents Visiting or Suspected of Visiting Sarang Jeil Church
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 17th that 48 residents were confirmed to have had contact with or were suspected of contact with members of the Sarang Jeil Church in Seoul, where a large number of COVID-19 cases occurred.
Gyeongnam Province explained that based on the list received from the Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center in Seoul, 48 residents were confirmed to have visited or were suspected of visiting Sarang Jeil Church in Seoul since July.
Gyeongnam Province has started COVID-19 testing for these individuals. Two tested negative, 15 are undergoing testing, and 18 are scheduled to be tested.
However, Gyeongnam Province stated that 11 people could not be contacted and 2 refused testing.
A Gyeongnam Province official said, "Among the 48, some residents claimed they did not visit Sarang Jeil Church, but we are encouraging them to get tested."

Since no new confirmed cases were reported overnight, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Gyeongnam remains at 167 as of the previous day. Of these, 157 have been discharged and 10 are currently hospitalized.
