Health Authorities Confirm Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon Tested Positive for COVID-19 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon, head pastor of Sarang Jeil Church, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
A quarantine official stated on the 17th, "Pastor Jeon has been confirmed as a COVID-19 positive case." He added, "Pastor Jeon must receive isolated treatment at a hospital," and "People who came into contact with him at the Seoul Liberation Day rally on the 15th must be quickly quarantined and tested."
It has not been confirmed exactly when Pastor Jeon underwent the COVID-19 test. As of noon on the same day, 315 confirmed cases have been reported at Sarang Jeil Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Seoul Metropolitan Government filed a complaint against Pastor Jeon the previous day for violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act. The government stated that Pastor Jeon violated self-quarantine measures by attending the Liberation Day rally, and obstructed epidemiological investigations by omitting and concealing the list of church-related individuals subject to investigation.
