[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] More than 1,000 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been reported in Japan.
According to NHK broadcasting, as of 6:30 PM on the 14th, the number of new COVID-19 cases was counted at 1,334.
Tokyo Metropolis had the highest number with 389 cases, followed by Osaka with 192, Fukuoka with 125, Kanagawa with 117, and Okinawa with 106.
The cumulative number of infections in Japan is 53,937. Tokyo has the highest number at 17,069, followed by Osaka (6,547), Kanagawa Prefecture (3,637), and Aichi Prefecture (3,593).

The previous day also saw 1,176 new COVID-19 infections. After staying below 1,000 for 10 to 12 days, the number exceeded 1,000 again after four days.
