Yeosu City, Food Information and Prices at a Glance... Mobile App 'YeosuMat' Gains Popularity
Providing Search by Menu, Recommended Restaurants, Hygiene Grade Establishments, and Affordable Price Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City, a marine tourism city visited by 13 million tourists annually, is gaining popularity with its mobile app ‘Yeosu Mat’ developed to eradicate overcharging and induce price competition among food businesses.
According to Yeosu City, while about 800 establishments joined the ‘Yeosu Mat’ app last year, currently over 1,000 establishments are registered and operating.
Launched in October last year, ‘Yeosu Mat’ allows users to view various food information and prices at a glance, including restaurant menus, prices, business hours, and parking facilities.
Users can conveniently use the app when deciding which restaurant to choose, as it provides menu-based searches, information on model restaurants, hygiene-rated establishments, reasonably priced businesses, Yeosu’s 10 best local dishes, and citizen discount information.
It is especially useful for tourists as restaurants can be searched by region. Installation is available by searching ‘Yeosu Mat’ in the phone’s Play Store and downloading the app.
Restaurants wishing to register on ‘Yeosu Mat’ can directly register and update their information through the app, and if registering alone is difficult, they can contact the Food Hygiene Division for assistance from an investigator.
