According to Jeonnam Province on the 13th, President Moon Jae-in declared eight cities and counties within Jeonnam Province affected by flood damage (Gurye, Gokseong, Damyang, Naju, Hwasun, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Jangseong) as special disaster areas on that day.
Regarding this, Governor Kim said, "I believe this is the result of President Moon Jae-in, along with the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, personally inspecting the flood damage sites such as Gurye and Gokseong and recognizing the severity of the damage," and emphasized, "We will do our best to have Daap-myeon in Gwangyang City and Hwangjeon-myeon in Suncheon City additionally designated as special disaster areas this time."
