New COVID-19 Cases Remain in the 50s for Two Consecutive Days (Update)

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 56 on the 13th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases rose by 56 from the previous day’s midnight to 14,770.
The daily new confirmed cases fluctuated between 20 and 40 since the beginning of this month but surged to the 50s starting from the previous day.
Regarding the infection routes of the new confirmed cases, 47 were locally transmitted and 9 were imported from overseas. Among the local cases, 25 were in Seoul, 16 in Gyeonggi, 2 in Busan, and 1 each in Gwangju, Ulsan, Chungnam, and Gyeongnam.
Of the 9 imported cases, 3 were detected during quarantine. The rest tested positive while in self-isolation at their residences or temporary living facilities in Jeonbuk (2), Seoul, Daegu, Gwangju, and Gyeonggi (1 each).
The imported cases came from the Philippines, Iraq, and the United States (2 each), and Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, and Algeria (1 each).

The number of patients who have been declared fully recovered and released from isolation reached 13,817, an increase of 31 from the previous day. The death toll remained at 305, unchanged from the previous day.
