[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seoul City announced on the 13th that it will renovate the Seoul Plaza Dream Message Board, expressing the will and desire to reclaim the daily lives taken away by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) together with its citizens, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day on the 15th.
The new Dream Message Board, featuring the phrase "We will reclaim the daily lives taken away, together with the citizens," compares the current situation where COVID-19 threatens citizens' daily lives to the "COVID Occupation Period," symbolizing how the entire nation united to overcome the Japanese colonial period. It conveys Seoul City's determination to overcome the current difficulties together with its citizens.
Seoul City explained that since K-quarantine has become a global model thanks to the city's proactive response and citizens' compliance with quarantine rules, if Seoul citizens take pride and reflect on the meaning of liberation together, they will be able to overcome the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Park Jin-young, Director of Citizen Communication Planning at Seoul City, said, "Just as the united strength of the entire nation 75 years ago achieved liberation, I believe that through the united power of citizens, we will surely reclaim our daily lives taken away by COVID-19," adding, "Seoul City will also join the citizens' efforts to overcome COVID-19."

On the 14th, Seoul City's YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/user/seoullive) will present the "75th Liberation Day Commemorative Seodaemun Prison VR Content," and from 8 p.m. on the 15th, the "Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Liberation 75th Anniversary Commemorative Concert," held on the outdoor stage of the Seodaemun Prison History Hall, will be broadcast live through Live Seoul.
