SW-Centered University Project Group Selects 2 University Teams and 5 Middle and High School Teams
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The SW-Centered University Project Group at Dongmyung University (Director Jo Mi-kyung) held the "Find It! The Charm of Core SW in Future Education! UCC Contest" and selected and awarded 2 teams from the university division and 5 teams from the middle and high school division.
In the university division, the Eunso-su team from Dongmyung University was selected as the grand prize winner with the theme "The Importance of SW Education in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution." They raised awareness of the importance of SW in the 4th Industrial Revolution era and presented ways to prepare capabilities to respond to this era by introducing the educational content conducted in SW-related departments and career guidance after graduation to nurture key talents in society. They received the Dongmyung University President's Award and a prize of 1 million won.
In the middle and high school division, the SWAI team from Dongsuyeong Middle School and the Chotokchotok team from Busan Jungang Girls' Middle School received the Innovation Award, winning the SW-Centered University Project Group Director's Award and a prize of 500,000 won.
The awarded works cleverly and clearly expressed the importance and necessity of SW.
The winning entries will be used to promote the Dongmyung University SW-Centered University Project Group and SW-related departments and will be sequentially released on the SW-Centered University Project Group website.
This contest, hosted by the university's SW-Centered University Project Group, was planned to raise awareness of the importance of SW as a core element of competitiveness for individuals, nations, and companies in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and to provide middle and high school students who will become future SW talents with opportunities to explore career paths through research on the roles, educational content, and career fields of SW major departments within universities.
A total of 14 works were submitted, including 4 from the university division and 10 from the middle and high school division. They were evaluated based on four criteria: relevance to the theme, originality, completeness, and suitability. Five judges, including external industry experts and university professors, conducted the evaluation.
Director Jo Mi-kyung said, "I hope current students recognize the importance of SW once again and take this as an opportunity to prepare to become future talents."
