Gyeonggi-do Conducts 'Inspection' of 46 Centers for Independent Living Support for Persons with Disabilities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct on-site guidance and inspections through the 'Gyeonggi Fair Welfare Promotion Team' to ensure the proper operation of the Disabled Independent Living Support Centers and transparency in the execution of subsidies.
The Disabled Independent Living Support Centers are facilities operated by Gyeonggi Province since 2007 with the purpose of strengthening the independent living capabilities of people with disabilities and supporting their participation in various social activities within the community. Currently, a total of 52 centers are in operation. Major projects include providing information on independent living in society, advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, and supporting independent living for individuals and those in care facilities.
The inspection targets are 46 centers that received national and provincial subsidies as of last year. The inspections will be conducted until the 26th.
The main inspection items include ▲appropriateness of accounting management (such as preliminary and final reports, securing funds, internal audits, etc.) ▲compliance with subsidy execution standards and management status of supporting documents ▲whether there has been any improper execution of subsidies ▲appropriateness of center staff and facility operation management.
The province plans to take strong measures such as administrative guidance and subsidy recovery in accordance with relevant laws including the Local Finance Act against institutions found to have committed illegal or improper acts.
