Ministry of Justice, Human Rights TF to Promote 'Prosecutor-Reporter Conversation Records'
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Ministry of Justice has created a directive that, in principle, prohibits contact between reporters and prosecutors regarding criminal cases, and it is also known to be pushing for a plan to record and report all conversations during meetings.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 10th, the "Human Rights Investigation System Improvement Task Force (TF)," led by the Director of the Prosecutor's Office, is promoting a measure to record specific details in a logbook when reporters and prosecutors meet, in order to prevent the leakage of investigation details such as the disclosure of suspect facts.
When reporters and prosecutors meet in offices or outside, they will be required to record their affiliation, name, date, time, location, as well as the content of the conversation.
The content of the reporter's questions and the prosecutor's answers will be recorded in detail and reported afterward.
