Hampyeong-gun Launches Full-Scale Campaign to Attract Prospective Returning Farmers and Rural Migrants from the Seoul Metropolitan Area
Participation in the 'Return to Farming and Rural Living Experience Learning' Expo at COEX, Seoul, June 6-8
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) has officially entered the competition to attract prospective return-to-farm and rural migrants from the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to Hampyeong-gun on the 10th, the county participated in the 19th Return-to-Farm and Rural Migration Experience Learning Expo held at COEX, Seoul, for three days from the 6th to the 8th.
Held under the theme "Natural Week," this expo was held simultaneously with the Eco-friendly Organic Trade Expo, Halal Expo Korea, and the Korea Fermented Vinegar Exhibition.
At this expo, the county promoted programs where prospective return-to-farm and rural migrants in the metropolitan area could directly live and experience the region, such as "Try Living First in Jeonnam," "Comma Empty House Regeneration Project," and "Returnee's House," and conducted one-on-one customized consultations.
Additionally, the county actively promoted educational programs that allow families to stay for a certain period at the Return-to-Farm and Rural Migration Stay-type Support Center, scheduled for completion by the end of this year, where they can experience rural adaptation and agricultural startup training.

A Hampyeong-gun official said, "We are actively promoting and encouraging return-to-farm and rural migration policies as part of measures to attract population to the region," adding, "Through this expo, we hope that Hampyeong's excellent geographical advantages (proximity to KTX and Muan International Airport) and its pristine natural environment will be well known to prospective return-to-farm and rural migrants."
