Industry Expects 4 Trillion Won Scale Growth This Year

According to the electronics industry on the 9th, Samsung Electronics recently installed LED signage on the exterior wall of the Duomo Cathedral in Italy to support the runway of Milan Fashion Week.
The Samsung LED signage at the Duomo Cathedral, which broadcasted the fashion show video, is an outdoor LED display measuring 103㎡ and supports an industry-leading brightness of 9,000 nits. Samsung Electronics explained that it can provide a clear screen even under strong sunlight.
According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung Electronics recorded a 34.2% share of the global signage market in the first quarter of this year, ranking first.
Samsung Electronics also showcased the latest technologies to provide new signage products and display solutions optimized for various spaces through an online showcase. Han Jong-hee, President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, "We will open the era of 'Screen Everywhere' through Samsung Electronics' innovative display technology."
LG Electronics has installed an LED signage-based flight information display system measuring 68.5 meters wide and 6.5 meters high at Terminal C of Sheremetyevo International Airport, located in northern Moscow.

The flight information display system built by LG Electronics measures 68.5 meters wide and 6.5 meters high. With a pixel pitch of 2.5mm, it clearly expresses content. The LED signage has no cabinet borders, allowing multiple units to be connected seamlessly to appear as one large screen.
Earlier in June, LG Electronics globally launched a new high-definition 'LG LED Signage' product. The new product features LED cabinets (the basic unit of LED signage embedded with LED elements) measuring 600mm wide, 337.5mm high, and 44.9mm thick, which can be easily connected like Lego blocks.

The industry expects the digital signage market size to grow from 2.5 trillion KRW in 2016 to about 4 trillion KRW this year.
