Landslide Warnings Issued for 24 Areas and Advisories for 57 Locations

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Due to record-breaking monsoon rains, landslide warnings have been issued for 81 cities, counties, and districts nationwide.
On the 9th, the Korea Forest Service's Landslide Prevention Support Headquarters announced that a total of 55 landslides occurred on the 8th alone, and 667 landslides have occurred since the beginning of August, mainly due to heavy rains in the southern regions.
The areas where landslides occurred the previous day include Gyeonggi (Anseong, Yeoncheon, Gapyeong, Gimpo), Gangwon (Cheorwon, Hongcheon, Inje, Wonju), and Gyeongnam (Geochang, Hapcheon, Sancheong, Hamyang).
Residents in areas where landslide warnings have been issued or are expected need to take proactive measures. The Korea Forest Service is providing disaster information through emergency disaster texts, subtitle broadcasts, and village broadcasts.
As of the 9th, landslide warnings have been issued in 24 locations including Busan (Suyeong), Gwangju (Buk), Sejong, Gyeonggi (Gapyeong, Anseong), Chungbuk (Okcheon), Jeonbuk (Namwon, Muju, Imsil, Jangsu, Jinan), Jeonnam (Gokseong, Gwangyang, Gurye, Suncheon, Hwasun), Gyeongbuk (Seongju), and Gyeongnam (Geochang, Sancheong, Uiryeong, Jinju, Hadong, Hamyang, Hapcheon).
