Andong City Invests 23.7 Billion KRW to Expand Arterial and Firefighting Roads... "To Match the Status of the Provincial Government Seat"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 9th that it will spend 23.7 billion KRW this year to alleviate chronic congestion sections by expanding arterial roads and fire roads in the city.
The city will invest 18.3 billion KRW to expand and open five arterial road routes (total length 5,430m) connecting major parts of the city. The road construction from Okdong 3 Jugong to Songha District Police Station is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, and the Yongjeonggyo Bridge expansion project, which widens the existing two-lane bridge to four lanes, is expected to be completed next year.
Additionally, the expansion of Susang-daero, the gateway road of Andong City, and the construction of a bypass road at Jeongha-dong Citizen Sports Complex will undergo compensation negotiations this year and are scheduled to begin construction next year. The road plan connecting Songhyeon Division to Angi Northern Loop Road is currently in the detailed design preparation stage.
Along with this, fire road construction on 12 routes including Yongsangjung-ro (total length 3,707m), originally planned for this year, will also proceed with an investment of 5.4 billion KRW for land compensation and other opening procedures.

An Andong City official stated, "In line with the status as the provincial government seat and the central city of northern Gyeongbuk, we will actively expand urban infrastructure to enhance the Andong City brand value, and do our best to increase citizens' transportation convenience and revitalize the stagnant local economy."
