President Trump Signs Executive Order on Payroll Tax Deferral and Unemployment Benefits Extension
Annual Salary Under $100,000 for Americans
Includes Student Loan and Tenant Eviction Moratoriums
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] On the 8th (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order that defers payroll taxes and extends additional unemployment benefits.
This move came as the White House and the Democratic Party failed to reach an agreement on additional COVID-19 relief measures.
The payroll tax deferral applies to Americans earning less than $100,000 annually.
President Trump also mentioned in the executive order that support for the unemployed would be provided, including the extension of unemployment benefits.
The executive order also includes provisions such as student loan relief and a halt on tenant evictions.
