Gwangju Seo-gu Holds 4th Local Products Market to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) will hold the 4th local products market to overcome COVID-19.
Seo-gu announced on the 5th that it will hold the '4th Seo-gu Local Products Market' to overcome the damage caused by COVID-19 in the lobby of the government building on the 6th and 7th.
This market was prepared to share the pain of local companies and farms suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to revitalize the local economy.
The market is expected to be participated by 15 places including social economy enterprises conducting public interest projects such as providing jobs for vulnerable groups, as well as youth enterprises, local farms, and small business owners.
Participating companies plan to promote and sell more than 40 diverse and high-quality products such as various food items, handicrafts, and eco-friendly agricultural products.
This market is expected to help local companies, including social economy enterprises whose sales channels were blocked due to COVID-19, regain some vitality.
Seo-gu plans to ensure safety by dispersing vendors over two days, conducting temperature checks at the entrance of the government building, and enforcing quarantine rules such as mandatory mask-wearing and use of hand sanitizers to prevent COVID-19 during the market operation.
A Seo-gu official said, "We hope this event will contribute even a little to revitalizing the frozen local economy amid strengthened social distancing," and added, "We will continue to make efforts and maintain ongoing interest to promote sales of local companies, including social economy enterprises, that are facing difficulties."
