GS25 "Paid Membership 'The Pop Plus' Customers Spend 3.7 Times More Than Regular Customers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS Retail’s paid subscription membership service, ‘The Pop Plus,’ is receiving positive responses from customers.
GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, analyzed customer data for The Pop Plus membership service from May to June and found that customers subscribed to The Pop Plus CAFE25 purchased about 3.7 times more than regular customers, while those subscribed to The Pop Plus Lunchbox & Salad purchased about 2.6 times more.
The Pop Plus CAFE25 is a paid subscription membership service that offers a 25% discount on all CAFE25 products up to 60 times per month for a monthly fee of 2,500 KRW, providing benefits worth up to 30,000 KRW. The Pop Plus Lunchbox & Salad offers a 20% discount up to 10 times per month on lunchboxes and salads priced at 6,000 KRW or less, along with a monthly gift, for a monthly fee of 3,990 KRW, providing benefits worth up to 11,250 KRW.
GS Retail views these service products as designed to provide greater value through benefits from usage than the price paid at membership registration, which has led to strong customer approval. The Pop Plus service is a paid membership service where customers pay a fixed amount to regularly use products and services. GS25 launched it in May as the first convenience store in the industry to offer differentiated benefits to loyal customers.
Meanwhile, GS Retail will run a ‘100% Membership Fee Rewards’ promotion throughout August to expand The Pop Plus membership base. Customers who newly subscribe to The Pop Plus during the promotion period will receive a one-month usage fee cashback as Pop Rewards. Customers who subscribe to both The Pop Plus CAFE25 and The Pop Plus Lunchbox & Salad will receive overlapping cashback benefits.
