[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon City Council (Chairman Heo Yu-in) is gaining attention for its active legislative activities, including visiting the National Assembly to attend a forum for attracting a medical school to the eastern region of Jeollanam-do and the opening ceremony of the ‘Suncheon Communication Room’.
Chairman Heo Yu-in and 21 members of the Suncheon City Council visited the National Assembly the day before to attend a forum titled “Expansion of Public Medical Infrastructure and the Role of Medical Schools in the Eastern Region of Jeollanam-do.”
The forum, hosted by National Assembly member So Byung-chul and co-hosted by lawmakers from the eastern region of Jeollanam-do, served as an opportunity to share the necessity of expanding public medical infrastructure in the eastern region and to publicize the attraction of a medical school to the area.
Meanwhile, before the forum, the Suncheon City Council members attended the opening ceremony of the ‘Suncheon Communication Room’ held at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building.
The ‘Suncheon Communication Room,’ newly established in the National Assembly Members’ Office Building, is expected to become a place of communication where Suncheon citizens and public officials visiting the National Assembly can comfortably conduct their work and freely discuss regional issues.
Heo Yu-in, Chairman of the Suncheon City Council, stated, “As a citizen of Suncheon, I find it meaningful that a space has been prepared where citizens visiting the National Assembly can freely communicate and rest comfortably,” and added, “We will do our best to achieve the attraction of a medical school, which is the aspiration of 280,000 Suncheon citizens, by communicating more closely with the National Assembly and the central government.”
