On the 4th, it was announced that Geochang County Governor Gu In-mo visited the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to request national funding support.
On this day, Governor Gu met with the Budget Director, Economic Budget Review Officer, Administrative Defense Budget Review Officer, and related personnel to explain the key projects for next year and to propose national funding support.
Meanwhile, the projects proposed to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance include five projects: ▲ Family Center construction project ▲ Southern Bypass Road construction project ▲ Organic Industry Complex Service Support Complex project ▲ Sewage Treatment Plant installation project ▲ Public Sewage Treatment Plant expansion project, with a requested national funding scale of 80.8 billion KRW.
The county emphasized the necessity and requested support for the county’s public sewage treatment plant expansion project and the small-scale sewage treatment plant installation project in the Namsang Cheongnim district, which are projects aimed at supplying clean water not only to residents but also to the upper Nakdong River area.
Furthermore, the Geochang Southern Bypass Road construction project, a long-standing wish of the residents, was proposed to be started early in 2021.
In addition, interest and support were requested for the Organic Industry Complex Service Support Complex project, which enables natural ecological tourism as well as organic production, distribution, consumption, experience, and education.
The Geochang County Family Center, applied for to perform the function of a family service hub, was requested to be selected as a living SOC complex facility and to receive budget support.
With the construction of the Family Center, the county plans to integrate family-related services comprehensively by combining a national and public daycare center on the first floor, a Together Care Center, a communal childcare sharing space on the second floor, and a Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center on the third floor.
Early delivery of the operation rights for the Ecolian Geochang Eco-friendly Public Golf Course was proposed to promote regional economic revitalization.
In particular, the necessity and justification for expanding tourist facilities near the golf course, such as the Anti-aging Healing Land, Y-shaped Suspension Bridge, Family Hot Springs, and Geochang Changpo Garden, were emphasized.
Governor Gu In-mo said, “Through visits to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, I explained the projects that will open the future of the county and requested interest and budget support,” adding, “Until the government budget is finalized, I will frequently visit the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and central government departments to do my best to secure national funding and resolve pending projects.”
