Turkey Reports Over 980 New COVID-19 Cases... Total Exceeds 232,800
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Turkey has reached the 980s.
On the 3rd (local time), the Turkish Ministry of Health announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases increased by 987, bringing the total confirmed cases in Turkey to 232,856.
Since mid-June, the daily cumulative confirmed cases in Turkey had fallen below 1,500, but for 20 consecutive days since the 15th of last month, the number has remained in the 900s without decreasing.
The cumulative death toll was reported to have increased by 18 from the previous day, reaching 5,728.
The Turkish Ministry of Health stated that 40,247 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, with the total number of tests reaching 4,885,916.
