Fire Authorities: "4 Presumed Buried at Gapyeong Pension... 2 Bodies Found"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] On the afternoon of the 3rd, the bodies of two women were found at the site of a landslide accident at a pension in Sanyu-ri, Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. The fire authorities estimate that a total of four people were buried here.
On that day, the fire authorities announced that they found the body of a 37-year-old woman at 3:29 PM and a 65-year-old woman at 5:04 PM. They were the pension owner’s family and staff, and two men are still missing.

Earlier that day, at around 10:40 AM, a 119 emergency call was received reporting that soil had collapsed and buried the pension in Sanyu-ri, Gapyeong-eup. Guests staying at the pension safely evacuated, but one office building was buried, and it is estimated that four people including the pension owner, family, and staff could not evacuate. Rescue operations using heavy equipment are underway.
