Daedong Industrial Achieves Record Operating Profit of 37.1 Billion KRW in First Half of the Year
Increase in Overseas Sales Centered on North America
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Daedong Industrial announced on the 3rd that its operating profit in the first half of this year recorded the highest performance since its establishment.
The operating profit on an individual basis in the first half of this year was 37.1 billion KRW, a 27% increase compared to 29.2 billion KRW in the same period last year. The increase in operating profit was influenced by improved efficiency through the establishment of a digital-centered management system and increased overseas sales, mainly through the North American subsidiary.
Sales in the first half of this year recorded 355.5 billion KRW, a 5% decrease compared to the same period last year. Since 2017, Daedong Industrial has aggressively expanded exports to overseas markets, surpassing annual sales of 620 billion KRW last year. For the first time since its establishment, it set records by surpassing 300 billion KRW in individual sales in the first half of last year and exceeding 600 billion KRW in annual sales.
