Hyundai Motor Group Provides Special Support for Flood-Affected Areas... Free Vehicle Inspections and Washing
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 3rd that it will carry out 'Special Support Activities for Flood-Affected Areas' to assist regions damaged by heavy rains and typhoons.
This support is a social contribution activity that Hyundai Motor Group conducts annually for customers affected by floods, providing free inspections of flood-damaged vehicles and repair support for damaged vehicles, as well as free laundry services and essential goods support for disaster victims.
First, Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors will visit flood-affected sites during the special support service period to conduct free inspections of major parts, including the engine and transmission, for vehicles damaged by flooding and typhoons.
Additionally, vehicles that are difficult to service on-site can be brought to nationwide direct service centers or Blue Hands (Hyundai) and AutoQ (Kia) for repairs, with repair costs discounted by up to 50% to minimize customer burden. (Support is provided for customers without comprehensive insurance, with a total discount limit of up to 3 million KRW)
Along with this, Hyundai Motor will support 50% of rental car costs for up to 10 days when customers bring in flood-damaged vehicles for repair and rent a car. Kia Motors will provide free rental cars for up to 5 days when customers scrap flood-damaged vehicles and repurchase Kia vehicles. (Support is for customers without comprehensive insurance, excluding corporate, commercial, and cargo vehicles)
Moreover, Hyundai Motor Group is dispatching emergency support teams to flood-affected areas and providing basic daily necessities. To quickly organize clothing and other items of disaster victims, laundry relief vehicles are deployed to offer free laundry and drying services. This year, Hyundai Motor Group newly produced laundry relief vehicles by modifying 7-ton mega truck box trucks in collaboration with the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
The new laundry relief vehicles are specially designed with three 18kg washing machines, three 23kg dryers, and one generator, completing washing and drying within 90 minutes and capable of processing an average of 1,000 kg of laundry per day. Hyundai Motor Group has dispatched these laundry relief vehicles to areas affected by recent heavy rains to wash and dry clothes and blankets contaminated by flood damage.
Previously, Hyundai Motor Group donated laundry relief vehicles to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association in 2006 and 2013. These vehicles are dispatched to disaster sites during large-scale national disasters such as typhoons, wildfires, and earthquakes to support laundry services and are also used for laundry volunteer work for socially vulnerable groups through cooperation with local governments and institutions.
