Emart24 Launches 'Time Coupon Promotion' Usable Like Cash
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart24 will expand its time coupon promotion throughout August.
Emart24 previously held an event in July where 2,400 customers received a 500 won coupon on a first-come, first-served basis every weekday from 5 PM to midnight. Within 30 minutes of the event opening, all prepared coupons were exhausted, prompting a surprise event from July 21 to the end of the month that more than doubled the number of coupons distributed.
Due to the strong customer response, Emart24 decided to expand the time coupon promotion in August. August is the season when convenience store sales indices are highest due to the heatwave and tropical nights, and the company plans to maximize franchise store foot traffic through discount events targeting late-night snack customers.
Unlike July, when coupons were only given on weekdays, weekend-exclusive coupons will be newly introduced in August. Weekend coupons will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with 25,000 coupons available each week, and can be downloaded from the Emart24 mobile app starting at midnight on Saturdays. Time coupons can be used at any time during the weekend, and unused coupons will expire after midnight on Monday.
For weekday coupons, the daily distribution quantity has been increased by 600 from 2,400 in July to 3,000 in August. These can be downloaded via the Emart24 mobile app from 5 PM on weekdays (Monday to Friday). Coupons are valid from 5 PM to midnight on the same day and expire after midnight the next day. Purchases of cigarettes and service products are not allowed.
Meanwhile, Emart24 is running discount events throughout August targeting late-night snack customers with discounts on side dishes, lunch boxes, rice balls, and canned beer. From 7 PM to midnight daily, customers paying with NH Nonghyup Card can receive an immediate 40% discount on 19 popular side dishes, and from 9 PM to midnight, customers paying with KakaoPay can get 40% cashback on all lunch box and rice ball products.
When purchasing three types of beer (Heineken, Tsingtao, Hoegaarden) with Hyundai Card, customers can buy four cans for 10,000 won with an additional 1,000 won discount, making the price 9,000 won.
