MBC 'Gongbuda Meoni?' Expert Appears for Gwangjin-gu Parents on Untact Education
Non-face-to-face Lectures from 19th to 21st: Choosing the Right School for Me, Self-directed Learning Methods by Subject, and the Present and Future of University Admissions
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is promoting non-face-to-face (untact) parent education from the 19th to the 21st for parents worried about their children's education due to changes in academic schedules caused by COVID-19 and the economic downturn.
This education program features three experts (Lee Byung-hoon, Son Jeong-seon, Jin Dong-seop) who appeared on MBC's "Study Is Money?" as instructors.
The main topics include ▲ choosing the right school and subject-specific self-directed learning methods ▲ parenting and learning methods according to temperament traits ▲ the present and future of university admissions, conducted in 120-minute lectures per session.
The target audience is parents of elementary, middle, and high school students, and the lectures will be held online via video conferencing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Participation in the video lectures is limited to 50 people per day on a first-come, first-served basis, but for parents who cannot apply, a real-time live broadcast will be simultaneously available on the ‘Gwangjin-gu official YouTube channel’ without participant limits.
Applications are available on the Gwangjin-gu website from the 5th to the 7th, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Gwangjin-gu Education Support Division.

Mayor Kim Seon-gap of Gwangjin-gu said, “I believe parents are very worried as academic schedules continue to be postponed and changed due to the prolonged COVID-19 crisis. At times like this, the role of parents nearby is very important, so we wanted to create an opportunity to look together from the children's perspective, find their hidden potential, and open up possibilities. That is why we are conducting this non-face-to-face parent education program.”
