Shinhan Bank Holds the 12th Shinhan Music Awards Ceremony
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Shinhan Bank announced that it held the 12th Shinhan Music Awards ceremony on the 30th at the Shinhan Art Hall located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Shinhan Music Awards were established in 2009 with the purpose of discovering promising pure domestic classical musicians. This year marks the 12th edition. Winners are selected in four categories: violin, piano, cello, and vocal music.
This year, the winners were Kim Song-hyun (homeschooling) for piano, Park Won-min (1st year at Seoul Arts High School) for violin, Jo Ye-won (1st year at Korea National University of Arts) for cello, and Kim Su-han (3rd year at Busan Arts High School) for vocal music. The newly established Encouragement Award this year went to Cheon Min-jae (3rd year at Seoul Arts High School) for piano and Han Jae-min (homeschooling) for cello. Winners receive a scholarship totaling 16 million KRW, paid as 4 million KRW annually (the Encouragement Award is a one-time payment of 4 million KRW).

Shinhan Bank plans to support them so they can contribute to society through various experiences. Awardees will have opportunities such as masterclass training at the world's top music schools, solo recitals at Shinhan Art Hall, and performances at awardee concerts. They will also participate in regular collaborations with performers with developmental disabilities and volunteer activities through talent donation.
