Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center Renovated and Holds Non-Face-to-Face Opening Ceremony
Facility Established to Provide Integrated Dementia Services to Local Residents... Opening Ceremony Held Online to Prevent COVID-19 Infection
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center has completed remodeling and expansion work to become a facility that can provide better integrated dementia services to local residents and has opened its doors.
The Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center is located on the first floor of Bulgwang Health Branch and has been reorganized into examination rooms, screening rooms, program rooms, health management rooms, and offices.
Additionally, a family cafe and a resting area for elderly dementia patients have been expanded on the second floor to accommodate more seniors and dementia families.
In particular, through this remodeling and expansion, the screening and program rooms have been enlarged, soundproofing facilities reinforced, and a waiting list system introduced, enabling the Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center to provide faster services in a safer and more comfortable environment.
The opening ceremony was planned to invite local residents and related institution officials to the center, but to prevent COVID-19 infection, it will be held online.
A booklet introducing the newly renovated Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center will be mailed to local residents and elderly dementia patients starting August 4, and an e-book version will also be produced so that people can access the center without face-to-face contact.
Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, congratulated the new renovation of the Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center, saying, “I hope that the center will continue to serve as the ‘dementia control tower’ of Eunpyeong-gu and play a central role as a dementia hub in the community.”
She added, “All the resources of the Eunpyeong-gu Dementia Safety Center are for the local residents, so I hope everyone visits anytime and enjoys integrated dementia services without burden.”
