On the 31st, the KSA announced that it awarded the AI+ certification to LG CNS, Otek Carrier, Commax, and The White Communication, recognizing the quality of their AI products. The certification ceremony was held the previous day at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel Jeju, attended by 400 top domestic CEOs.
The KSA explained that the AI+ certification system is the world's first AI certification system that conducts testing and certification based on an objective AI quality evaluation model and international standards for quality management systems, thereby assessing the quality level of AI products in terms of reliability and safety. The certification targets software, services, and information and communication technology (ICT) products that apply AI technology. Product testing is conducted based on international standards focusing on quality characteristics and AI functions from the user's perspective, and a management system that continuously improves product quality is verified through on-site audits.
Through the AI+ certification pilot project, the KSA established a certification system for evaluating the quality level of AI software and products by conducting product testing and on-site audits for participating companies LG CNS, Otek Carrier, Commax, and The White Communication. The official certification service will begin on the 1st of next month.
To secure the credibility and trust of the AI+ certification, the KSA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with WiseStone, a software and product testing institution that obtained international accreditation last May, for the promotion of the AI+ certification system and the enhancement of the technical quality of AI products as well as the development of the domestic AI industry. The association conducts the overall process and on-site audits, while WiseStone, a specialized software testing organization, performs the tests required for certification.

Lee Sang-jin, President of the Korea Standards Association, said, "We hope these companies will continuously maintain the system to guarantee the quality of AI products, and the association will also contribute to creating a high-quality AI industry ecosystem." He added, "We expect that digital transformation, including AI, will play a significant role in the quantum leap of domestic industries after COVID-19."
