"Best Efforts to Continuously Expand Employment for Persons with Disabilities"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled held a meeting at its headquarters on the 31st to present best practices in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and adopted a resolution to overcome the crisis.
The meeting was attended by 24 key executives, including executives, heads of departments and divisions at headquarters, regional headquarters directors, and the director of the Vocational Competency Development Institute.
Best practices in response to COVID-19 were presented and shared, including ▲ employment of assistant coaches for physical education for people with developmental disabilities ▲ non-face-to-face vocational training through operation of the YouTube brand channel (KEAD-B) ▲ rapid support for small and medium-sized enterprises through early payment of contract fees.
To proactively address the issue of jobs for people with disabilities amid the COVID-19 emergency situation, all executives engraved the agency’s core values in their minds and adopted a resolution to demonstrate leadership and commitment to faithfully fulfilling the agency’s mission of employing people with disabilities.
The agency plans to focus investment on building a video conferencing system to provide non-face-to-face services in the future. It will also identify cases where project implementation is difficult due to institutional constraints and promote them as active administrative tasks.
