Environmental Improvement of Rural Fishing Villages through Sewerage Maintenance in Gunsan City
Okgu-eup and Oksan-myeon Area, Construction Completion Scheduled for 2022
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk Province, has embarked on a village sewage system maintenance project to improve the environment and water pollution in rural fishing villages.
On the 30th, the city announced that it is promoting a rural village sewage system maintenance project in the Okgu-eup and Oksan-myeon areas to improve the living environment of rural residents and the water quality of the Saemangeum area.
This project is a new project by the Ministry of Environment this year, with a total budget of 15.2 billion KRW (10.6 billion KRW from the national government), installing one sewage treatment plant and sewage pipelines of 7.3 km and 7.1 km respectively in the Dagiji District (Okgu) and Bongdong District (Oksan).
The detailed design service started last month, and after consultations with the Ministry of Environment and administrative procedures, the construction is scheduled to be completed by 2022.
