Chosun University of Science and Technology Students Stand Out at National Food Grand Prix Competition

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Students of Chosun University of Science and Technology stood out in a nationwide Food Grand Prix competition.
Chosun University of Science and Technology (President Jo Soon-gye) announced on the 30th that students from the Department of Food Nutrition and Culinary Arts participated in the group live category of the Food Grand Prix competition at the "17th Seoul International Food & Tableware Expo" and won the Grand Prize (Rural Development Administration Commissioner Award) and Gold Prize (Governor of Chungcheongnam-do Award).
The "Seoul International Food & Tableware Expo" is a large-scale event for food culture and tableware industries hosted by the World Food Culture Research Institute and the Korea Food Coordinator Association.
It provides a platform for exchange through competitions and exhibitions involving both professionals and amateurs.
Seong Woong-bi (2nd year, Department of Food Nutrition and Culinary Arts), the team leader who won the grand prize in the live group cooking category, said, "I am grateful to my team members who participated together and gave their best until the end," and added, "I thank the professors who always guide the students well and the school for their unwavering support."
Kim Yoon-min, head of the Department of Food Nutrition and Culinary Arts, stated, "Despite the difficult conditions due to COVID-19, I am proud of the students who overcame their personal challenges with passion for cooking," and expressed gratitude to the parents who provided wholehearted support.

Meanwhile, the Department of Food Nutrition and Culinary Arts at Chosun University of Science and Technology has been recognized for its excellence, producing the top national passers in the 42nd National Dietitian Examination in 2018. The department trains culinary technology talents and meal management experts through majors in Culinary Arts and Nutrition, and will conduct the first round of early admissions starting September 23.
