On the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, saying, "I am witnessing the prosecution being reformed," and pointed out, "Even situations that only existed during the Jeon Du-hwan era are being reenacted."
He also criticized Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jung Jin-woong, saying, "He is the person who lied that 'we have secured most of the key evidence and are approaching the substantial truth to a significant extent.'"
Earlier, Prosecutor Han's side released a statement claiming, "We were subjected to unilateral physical assault during the search and seizure procedure at the Judicial Research and Training Institute."
According to the statement, the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office arrived at the Yongin branch of the Judicial Research and Training Institute around 10:30 a.m. to seize and search Prosecutor Han's mobile phone.
During the process of unlocking the phone password to call a lawyer with the permission of Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jung, who was directing the scene, a physical altercation broke out.
Prosecutor Han's side stated, "Suddenly, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jung Jin-woong, who was sitting across the sofa, lunged over the table, grabbed Prosecutor Han's arm and shoulder, climbed onto him, and pushed him, causing him to fall under the sofa," adding, "During this process, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jung climbed on top of Prosecutor Han, grabbed his arms and shoulders, and pressed his face."
