Plantynet Signs Agreement with NSHC to Develop Technology Preventing Recurrence of 'n번방' Case
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Plantynet announced on the 29th that it has signed an agreement with NSHC to jointly develop technology to prevent the recurrence of a second ‘n번방’.
Plantynet is a leading domestic company in internet harmful content blocking technology, accumulating 20 years of specialized databases and technical expertise to provide services such as blocking harmful websites and videos on the internet and mobile, as well as managing usage time. The company is also expanding its presence in Asian markets such as Taiwan and Vietnam.
NSHC is a dark web cybersecurity technology specialist company that collects content information on the dark web as big data and performs correlation analysis on various cybercrime-related information contained in the content. It develops profiling and intelligence function solutions that can identify, track, and prevent cyber threat information, gaining global attention in countries such as Japan, Turkey, and Indonesia.
This agreement was made to enhance the execution power of a technology development project to prevent digital crimes by partnering the capabilities and technologies each company possesses to present a highly effective solution as soon as possible.
Plantynet explained, “The agreement was made with mutual understanding of the value to block illegal content distribution to prevent and respond to serious cybercrimes and to raise the ‘Internet Safety Index.’ The ‘n번방 incident,’ which caused social upheaval due to online child and adolescent sexual exploitation crimes, served as a catalyst for cooperation between the two companies.”
In particular, they detected that the Telegram joining and internal material distribution of n번방 were conducted through the dark web, and decided to fully cooperate in creating related filtering solutions by opening and utilizing the core dark web-related technologies and capabilities each company possesses. It is also expected that by utilizing Plantynet’s AI-based real-time harmful video blocking technology, messenger harmful link blocking technologies such as Telegram and KakaoTalk, and random chat app blocking technologies, they will build an innovative business model together with NSHC to solve illegal content distribution problems.
Additionally, this agreement includes ▲strengthening and commercialization of solutions in the harmful content blocking field ▲exchange of core proprietary technologies and data ▲active establishment of an information exchange network.
Kim Hoojong, CEO of Plantynet, stated, “Through this agreement, we will take the lead in raising the ‘Internet Safety Index’ by maximizing synergy using the core technologies of both companies.”
