Yongin City 'Joayang' Character Wrapped Light Rail to Operate from the 30th
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will operate light rail wrapped with the 'Joayang' character from the 30th to enhance the city's image using a familiar character to citizens and to promote the use of the light rail.
To this end, Yongin City conducted a 'Joayang · Yongin Light Rail Wrapping Image Vote' from the 12th to the 21st of last month, targeting 6,106 citizens, and selected two images.
The final selected images are 'Joayang Flying in the Sky,' which depicts the light rail as an airplane with Joayang flying in the sky, and 'Submarine Joayang,' which depicts the light rail as a submarine underwater.
Citizens who participated in the preliminary vote responded with comments such as "It would be exciting to ride the Joayang light rail" and "Children will love it."
The city plans to carry out various projects, including Joayang light rail certification photo events, so that the Yongin light rail can become a more familiar means of transportation for citizens.
Baek Gun-gi, mayor of Yongin City, stated, "We expect that the familiar and cute image of the Joayang character will greatly help activate the light rail."
