Gyeonggi Office of Education Takes Steps to Bridge Learning Gaps Caused by Hybrid In-Person and Remote Classes
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is launching the 'Gyeonggi Blended Learning' project to address learning gaps caused by the simultaneous operation of in-person and remote classes due to COVID-19.
Gyeonggi Blended Learning is an educational approach that provides students with integrated online and offline learning experiences by reorganizing curriculum achievement standards and learning content. It supports student-led learning by enhancing personalized learning design and feedback.
The support measures include ▲ production and distribution of materials to understand Gyeonggi Blended Learning, ▲ remote workshops to strengthen blended learning capabilities, and ▲ operation of visiting blended learning training using a pool of instructors.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education previously distributed materials for understanding blended learning, consisting of understanding, practice, and practice examples, to frontline schools on the 23rd.
Starting in September, the Gyeonggi Office of Education plans to operate visiting blended learning training sessions directly at regions and schools using the instructor pool.

Hwang Mi-dong, Director of the School Curriculum Division at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, said, "This support plan was prepared to assist schools struggling with the operation of simultaneous in-person and remote classes due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We especially hope that the use of the blended learning understanding materials will help close the learning gaps among students."
