Wavve Original 'SF8' Reaches 300,000 Viewers Two Weeks After Early Release
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Online video service (OTT) Wavve announced on the 28th that the original drama 'SF8' surpassed 300,000 viewers within two weeks of its release.
SF8 was planned by the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) and MBC, produced by Su Film, and was exclusively pre-released on Wavve on the 10th. This drama realistically captures themes that future society may present to us, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robots, games, and disasters, through eight film directors working with distinctive actors.
The work was also recognized for its artistic value in the film industry and was officially invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival earlier this month, where a 'Mega Talk' was held with film audiences. Min Jin-soo, CEO of Su Film, said, "Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, all eight episodes were sold out, and it was a joyful time for directors and actors to meet with the audience amid a passionate response."
