COVID-19 Resurgence in China... 46 New Cases Confirmed
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The COVID-19 situation in China is showing signs of worsening again, with a rapid increase in new coronavirus infections.
On the 26th, the National Health Commission of China announced that 46 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide on the 25th, of which 35 were domestic cases. The number of domestic cases increased by 6 compared to the previous day, with 22 cases reported in Xinjiang and 13 in Liaoning Province. Among the confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections in Xinjiang, 20 and 38 respectively were all reported in the capital city, Urumqi.
The 13 new confirmed cases in Liaoning Province in the northeast were reported in Dalian and Tieling, with 12 and 1 cases respectively. All of these cases were confirmed after transitioning from asymptomatic infections. In Dalian, patients are concentrated in a seafood processing plant. The Chinese authorities reported 68 asymptomatic infections on the 25th, which are not included in the official COVID-19 statistics.

Given that recent confirmed cases have transitioned from asymptomatic infections, the spread of COVID-19 in China is expected to continue for the time being. Hong Kong also reported 133 new cases the previous day, marking the fourth consecutive day with over 100 new cases. The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong increased by 133 to reach 2,505.
