View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] CEOs of IT giant companies such as Apple, Amazon, Google, and Facebook will appear before the U.S. Congress on the 29th (local time) to testify regarding monopoly allegations.
According to CNBC on the 25th (local time), the U.S. House Judiciary Committee plans to hold a hearing on the 29th, where Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon; Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook; Tim Cook, CEO of Apple; and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, will attend to present their positions on the monopoly allegations.
This will be the first time that the CEOs of the four major Big Tech companies testify together before Congress, and it will also be Jeff Bezos' first time attending such a hearing.
Apple has faced controversy over the operation of its app marketplace, the App Store; Amazon over its treatment of third-party sellers and its practice of launching competing products; Google over its dominance in the search advertising market; and Facebook over its acquisition practices of competitors.

Following this hearing, the U.S. House of Representatives plans to publish a report on the antitrust investigations conducted so far. The report is expected to include legislative proposals to update existing antitrust laws to suit the digital age.
