Chairman Kim Jeong-su of 'Rhyme Incident' Lead Detained and Indicted for Embezzlement of 44 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Cho Sang-won), investigating the Lime scandal, announced on the 23rd that it has arrested and indicted Kim Jeong-su, chairman of Lead, who is accused of providing money and valuables to former Lime Vice President Lee Jong-pil to receive investment from Lime Asset Management and embezzling funds from Lead, a KOSDAQ-listed company.
According to the prosecution, Kim is accused of embezzling 20.7 billion KRW of Lead's funds in 2018 (embezzlement under the Special Act).
Kim, who comes from the entertainment industry and is also the ex-husband of actress A, is the actual owner of Lead and one of the four key "chairmen" involved in the Lime scandal.
Kim is also accused of providing money and valuables worth approximately 1.4 billion KRW to former Vice President Lee in 2017 to receive investment from Lime, as well as giving valuables worth about 74 million KRW to former Shinhan Financial Investment team leader Shim Mo.
