Bucheon, Bupyeong-Yeongdeungpo to Create 'Culture Line 1'... Three Cultural Foundations Sign Business Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province, the first legally designated cultural city in Korea, is creating the 'Culture Line 1' together with Bupyeong District in Incheon and Yeongdeungpo in Seoul.
On the 22nd, Bucheon Cultural Foundation announced that it signed a business agreement with Bupyeong Cultural Foundation and Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation to promote an urban exchange project to develop the Gyeongin Line (Line 1) into Culture Line 1.
Through this agreement, the organizations agreed to collaborate on ▲ enhancing cultural rights of urban residents ▲ discovering common cultural city issues and strengthening discourse ▲ planning and operating joint projects ▲ sharing and utilizing cultural resources ▲ establishing a foundation for mutual exchange and cooperation.
Bucheon Cultural Foundation plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to expand cooperation routes between cities and discover projects that promote cultural growth.

Meanwhile, Bucheon City was selected as the first legally designated cultural city in Korea at the end of last year under the Regional Culture Promotion Act. Bupyeong District is currently a preliminary cultural city, a stage before becoming a cultural city, and Yeongdeungpo is preparing to become a preliminary cultural city.
