Kim Tae-nyeon: "Is the KCTU an organization that only makes demands and fights... Hope for wise judgment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] On the 22nd, Kim Tae-nyeon, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out that "due to internal conflicts within the 전국민주노동조합총연맹 (Minju-nochong, Korean Confederation of Trade Unions), the historic tripartite agreement after 22 years is at risk of collapse," and stated, "I hope a wise decision will be made at the delegates' meeting tomorrow (the 23rd)." The Minju-nochong, which has not signed the tripartite agreement due to internal disputes, will hold an extraordinary delegates' meeting on the 23rd to decide whether to approve the 'Tripartite Agreement to Overcome the COVID-19 Crisis.'

He pointed out, "This tripartite social dialogue began with the Minju-nochong's 'COVID-19 One-Point Emergency Consultation Proposal.' The Minju-nochong chairman personally participated, and the employers, labor, and government prepared the agreement to maintain employment."
He continued, "If the ratification of the agreement is rejected at tomorrow's delegates' meeting, social solidarity and responsibility to overcome the COVID-19 crisis will weaken. If the tripartite agreement fails, the most vulnerable workers will face the greatest difficulties. The Minju-nochong must have a higher sensitivity to social solidarity and responsibility to overcome the crisis," he emphasized.
