Bank of Korea Union Withdraws from Korean Confederation of Trade Unions After 4 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunbyeol Kim] The Bank of Korea Labor Union has withdrawn from the National Financial Services Labor Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) after four years.
The Bank of Korea Labor Union announced on the 21st that it resolved to withdraw from the National Financial Services Labor Union, its upper-level organization under the KCTU, at a special delegates' meeting held on the 17th. Of the 59 total delegates, 57 attended the meeting. Among the 52 delegates who voted, the withdrawal motion was passed with 46 votes in favor.

The Bank of Korea Labor Union stated, "Although we have been in solidarity for four years since joining the Financial Services Labor Union in 2016, we have inevitably decided to withdraw," and added, "Future affiliations with upper-level organizations will be decided by delegate resolution."
