Gyeonggi-do Forms 'Recovery Support Team' for Fire in Yongin
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has formed an accident response support team to assist with the logistics center fire incident in Yongin.
On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has organized an accident response support team led by Hong Ji-seon, Director of the Railroad, Port, and Logistics Bureau, to provide support for the bereaved families of the deceased and treatment for the injured.
The support team will have the Logistics and Port Division and the Social Disaster Division in charge of overall situation management, while the Elderly Welfare Division and the Health and Medical Policy Division will provide assistance with funeral procedures for the deceased, treatment for the injured, and psychological counseling.
Meanwhile, at around 8:29 a.m. on the same day, a fire broke out on the estimated 4th basement floor of the SLC Logistics Center in Jeil-ri, Yangji-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City, resulting in a total of 13 casualties as of 2 p.m., including an estimated 5 deaths, 1 seriously injured, and 7 with minor injuries.
It was confirmed that a total of 69 people were inside the logistics center at the time of the fire, and the deceased were found on the 4th basement floor and other locations.

The fire authorities issued a Level 2 response by mobilizing personnel from nearby fire stations and deployed 190 firefighters and 76 pieces of equipment to carry out firefighting and rescue operations.
