Future United Party's Kang Ki-yoon Proposes Amendment Bill for Public Restrooms
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Kang Ki-yoon, a member of the Future United Party representing Changwon-si Seongsan, on the 20th, took the lead in proposing the "Partial Amendment to the Public Restroom Act" to enable people accompanied by infants and young children to conveniently and safely use diaper changing tables in public restrooms.
According to Representative Kang, the current law requires the installation of diaper changing tables for infants and young children in public restrooms with smooth pedestrian traffic, such as airport facilities and roadside rest areas. However, there are no regulations regarding the standards for the structure and materials of diaper changing tables, which has continuously raised safety management concerns.
The amendment stipulates standards for the structure and materials of diaper changing tables for infants and young children, allowing regular and occasional inspections to ensure that diaper changing tables are installed according to certain standards.
