Lim Young-woong Fan Club 'Youngwoong Sidae' Delivers Snacks to Gwangju Screening Clinic
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The fan club of trot singer Lim Young-woong, ‘Youngwoong Era,’ members from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions delivered snacks to express their gratitude to the medical staff at the COVID-19 screening clinics who are fighting on the front lines.
Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the afternoon of the 17th that a donation ceremony for COVID-19 relief supplies was held at the lawn square in front of City Hall, attended by Lee Jeong-sik, Director of the City’s Autonomous Administration Bureau, members of Youngwoong Era from Gwangju and Jeonnam, and officials from the Gwangju Volunteer Center.
About 350 members of Youngwoong Era from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions pooled their hearts and raised 3 million won in donations for the medical staff at the screening clinics who are fully committed to COVID-19 response activities. Using this, they prepared snacks including 170 boxes of ramen, 150 boxes of beverages, and 18 boxes of snacks.
This donation added warmth following last month’s group blood donation volunteer service by the fan club, considering the difficulties in blood supply due to COVID-19, and practiced sharing to support the medical staff at the screening clinics.
The donated snacks are scheduled to be delivered by the Gwangju Volunteer Center to 12 local screening clinics starting from that day.
Kang Mi-jung, Chairperson of Youngwoong Era in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, said, “I am grateful to be able to convey our thanks to the medical staff who are working hard during COVID-19,” and added, “Youngwoong Era will continue various social contribution activities in the future.”
