"Dining Industry Enters AI Era: KT and MFG Korea Join Forces"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced that on the morning of the 17th, it signed a "Business Agreement (MOU) for Digital Innovation of Dining Platforms" with MFG Korea, a dining company operating Mad for Garlic, at Mad for Garlic Gwanghwamun D Tower branch in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
KT and MFG Korea agreed to develop an advanced integrated online and offline dining platform service. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to ▲promote digital innovation based on an integrated dining platform ▲develop and provide integrated dining services based on 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and big data ▲and concretize marketing cooperation for digital innovation. A KT official stated, "We will launch a service that combines KT’s technological capabilities in 5G, AI, robotics, and big data solutions with MFG Korea’s integrated IT solutions, backed by 20 years of management know-how operating 44 directly managed stores nationwide."

Through this, the two companies expect to achieve digital innovation in the value chain of dining services, which are difficult to manage integrally, including search, waiting/reservation, ordering/payment, serving, delivery, and rewards. It will be piloted at 2.4 million Giga Genie households and Mad for Garlic stores nationwide in the future. Yoon Nara, CEO of MFG Korea, said, “The dining market is facing many difficulties due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and rapid market changes including untact consumption trends. Through this agreement ceremony, we will integrate KT’s AI and big data technologies to advance the platform currently under development and present a digital innovation model for the dining industry.” Kim Chae-hee, Executive Director of KT AI/Big Data Business Division, said, “We hope that this business agreement with MFG Korea, which has unique dining industry know-how and solutions, will bring new digital innovation to dining platforms.
