Pukyong National University and Busan Nam-gu Office Hold Launch Ceremony for 'Youth Social Living Lab Project' on the 16th

The Pukyong National University LINC+ Project Group and Nam-gu District Office of Busan held a launch ceremony for the "Youth Social Living Lab Project" on the afternoon of the 16th at the Nam-gu District Office meeting room.
This project is part of the job pledge by Busan City and Nam-gu District. Its goal is to provide young people with opportunities to identify and solve social problems on their own, thereby strengthening their social participation capabilities and linking to the fostering of social enterprises and job creation.
The Pukyong National University LINC+ Project Group is recruiting participants in connection with community innovation projects in the fields of village beautification, marine protection, cultural creation, and engineering sharing. Six teams composed of about 30 young people from the Busan area will be selected to work on solving local community problems until December. The target area for the project is Nam-gu District, Busan.
The projects they will undertake include six initiatives: the communication box "LINK" to solve the problem of elderly solitary deaths in Busan, a healing center for youth communication, development and distribution of indoor and outdoor earthquake disaster prevention supplies, promotion of antibacterial copper mask distribution for the elderly in Nam-gu, "AureuGO," a ceramic flowerpot sharing project for community cultural improvement through vocational rehabilitation education for the disabled, and activation of home exercise to promote health among Nam-gu residents.
Related organizations such as the Elderly Welfare Division of Nam-gu District Office, Youth Development Center GogoSingJOB, Korea O2O Marketing Association, JK Gold Co., Ltd., Hana Vocational Rehabilitation Facility for the Disabled, and Pukyong National University Sports Science Research Institute are also participating to support these projects.
The Pukyong National University LINC+ Project Group will provide education and mentoring to participating youth, and Nam-gu District Office plans to support the budget and promote expanding this project to the entire Busan City.

Seo Yong-cheol, head of the Pukyong National University LINC+ Project Group, said, "Through this project, we hope not only to contribute to solving local issues such as urban regeneration and village beautification but also to provide an opportunity for local youth to directly participate in solving community problems and become regionally tailored talents."
